She said, "I think that is her wedding dress. It's consistent with a 1915 date. The other portrait looks like a much younger person, possibly a confirmation photo." Anyway, Linda is just a lovely person and I think you would get a kick out of talking with her. Let me know if you'd like her contact info. :-) CharlotteSewing Foolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06233649159627846844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-284332651721553766.post-78606071659787062892020-08-01T21:37:52.022-07:002020-08-01T21:37:52.022-07:00I'll add that my grandmother had the 1918 flu ...I'll add that my grandmother had the 1918 flu - she was eight months pregnant with her first child at the time and came down with pneumonia as well. But unlike your unfortunate grandmother, mine recovered, had the child and another seven after that.Cussothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17936411121180304371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-284332651721553766.post-14654474451056365522020-08-01T00:57:15.704-07:002020-08-01T00:57:15.704-07:00What a lovely dress and such lovely photos to illu...What a lovely dress and such lovely photos to illustrate it and the fashions of the time. It’s nice you have something of hers, even though you never knew her. She’s beautiful, and it’s so sad that she died so young. I’ve heard that flu was particularly hard on pregnant women. Today is my grandmothers birthday (she would have been 100), so it was nice to read about someone’s grandmother today. I gave the scraps, beading and bouquet to my niece. You have honored her in a most moving way. And you included such a beautiful dress to show the times! Bless you and your "illustrated" memories.Cheriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05182744597249526549noreply@blogger.com
