Louise recommends to ALWAYS cross grain fabric before cutting the one seam pants out. Try the MSS pant if you want a sleek, tapered pant. I thought you already had. The Plaza pant is anything but tapered. I've made Plaza pants many times and the hem width on me is 20.5", the same hem width as my straight One Seam pants! If the pants are too slim, they emphasize the hips as the widest area, if they are too full, they make me look wider than I am. So, I agree. Go for a pant that falls in a straight line from the hips. Having said that I am still on my pants journey myself. You are probably being too critical of how you look, Martha! But don't we all do that?!becksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02147945810663254093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-284332651721553766.post-70358826188925739762017-01-08T17:29:43.091-08:002017-01-08T17:29:43.091-08:00Have you tried the pants from Sarah Veblen "E...Have you tried the pants from Sarah Veblen "Eureka Pants that Fit". It is an excellent pattern. Better, after trying a few mockups on your own, get her to fit you. See if you can visit her studio or one of the many conferences she attends, after making literally 100's of muslin, she helped me get it right.Patti's Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01844174204470503379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-284332651721553766.post-35349909360711068472017-01-08T16:51:08.838-08:002017-01-08T16:51:08.838-08:00Have you tried the My Swing Set pants from Cutting...Have you tried the My Swing Set pants from Cutting Lines Designs? They have a nice trouser-like silhouette and have become my favorite "dressy" pants pattern. I've made all the patterns you've illustrated except the Plaza and the Betzina pant and agree pretty much with your analysis.
