Having just completed Katherine and Marcy Tilton's Ultimate T shirt class over on Craftsy, I find myself in love with a knit T shirt. And surprised.
I thought that I disliked ITY knit.
I thought that women of my age and shape should not wear ITY knits.
I thought the process of making a T should be quick and dirty.
But I am teachable. I think. I have certainly learned a great deal in this class.
As it happens, if I take my time and try some samples, things go really well. And I end up having fun.
And isn't this a great piece of fabric? It has a little story. I follow the lovely blogger ArtAttack who makes gorgeous clothing. She blogged about a T shirt made with this divine fabric.
Well, I had to have it. No luck ordering online, or over the phone. So ArtAttack, who only knew me from my gushing comments on her blog, drove to her favorite fabric store, bought it and mailed it to me. Such a generous spirit. I blogged about it here but it deserves another thank-you.
So as I prepare to go to my very first DOL with Marcy Tilton and Diane Ericson, I find myself very jazzed about T shirts.
I just finished watching the class last night and I have been bit by the same t-shirt bug! I woke up thinking about my drawer of knit fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteI'm watching that class now. Of course, I've always loved T's. I'm thoroughly enjoying the class. Will probably get to complete it today. Your T came out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHaving met Dorcas a few times now I can imagine her doing this for you - lovely top
ReplyDeleteThat is one fabulous T! I love Tshirts. Since I'm a woman of a certain age and don't work outside my home, my attire is casual. I don't need dresses anymore, and a few dressy outfits are enough. But Ts and pants--can't have too many!
ReplyDeleteWill have to add this class to my 'list!' Your T looks fantastic...great fabric.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful Martha!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! A fabric like that takes a "basic T" well beyond basic.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric and great looking T. I may have to take that Craftsy class. I love t-shirts for work and play. I have taken one class, registered for a freebie or two and signed up for a pants fitting one with Sandra B.
ReplyDeleteBeeyoutiful!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous fabric really makes it!
ReplyDeletethat is a WOW top, and so nice of ArtAttack to solve your dilemma! Her version is really nice, too.
ReplyDeleteOh WoThe fabric is great!w! I love it .
ReplyDeleteGorgeous T! I also (think I?) hate ITY knits...maybe I need to rethink?
ReplyDeleteAnd can I be jealous that you're attending the last Marcy DOL? It's still on my bucket list though; I look forward to hearing your take on this one :)
Hi, Martha. One can only say "WOW!" for the lovely T-shirt. And thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
FABULOUS fabric. I'm loving it!! Especially how you've got such a fabulous contrast at the neckline - and the hem and sleeves!! It takes a really simple garment to the next level - and it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow fun, I hope you'll blog as often as possible about the DOL retreat. I'd love to go to the one in Taos....
